judge fudge is a seductively colourful yet toxic miasma of melted plastic toys and lettering – page 209, Factory records the complete graphic album Matthew Roberton This album caught my eye because of how busy and colourful it felt

BOBBY PULEO – Bobby puleo is a skateboarder and also and an artist who uses photographs of found ‘rubbish’ using the technique of knolling. This is similar to what im imagining for my album covers, except its too organised and not messy enough

The initial plan was to gather things that felt half arsed from charity shops or home but at first it wasnt turning out how i had hoped. it felt too soft and too organised and the white background didnt work the best

I was starting to struggle and it felt as though i was getting nowhere with my idea. But then with a little guidance, we went round the studio collecting everything that seemed like someones rubbish or anything ‘half-arsed’ and threw them on the black fabric. After taking photos and reorganising i choose the one i liked the best

The photo i choose to use for the album cover and the crop that I used for the front cover. I used the rest of the photo for that back side of the vinyl which was great as the orange ball gave me loads of room to ad text.

Once finishing the first vinyl i started to think of what to do with the singles, and to begin with i had to idea to involve the orange ball in each cover, so i got someone to pose with the ball for photos. i didn’t end up using the photos the way i intended for this cover bit i did go back and use the pastels to draw different people so i could collage them and use the same black background

For the back of the first album, I thought it would be good idea to write using the same pastels I used for the front to say the producers and have the barcode in the same colour to fit the same vibe as the font cover

To try keep all the albums connected, I done a little photo shoot with the orange bouncy ball that was in the first album, trying to think of ways to make it weird but interesting, but after looking at the photos I realised hey wouldn’t work just as they were so thought of ways to use them.

I wanted to try collage them s I printed a couple copies and using the same pastels for previous one began just adding colour not thinking to much about it. I also then torn a copy to layer on the top, which I the took a photo of that into photoshop and added noise as it still felt un finished
